This is a new section of the site. Short notes, posted about every couple of weeks, on what I’m building, what worked, what didn’t, and the occasional thing I learned the hard way.
Here’s the part I’m excited about: I won’t be writing most of these alone.
For the past few months I’ve been building a personal admin system on n8n and Postgres. It plans my days, watches what actually happens, and adjusts its own scheduling rules week over week. It already knows what I worked on, which projects moved, and what got shipped, because measuring that is its whole job.
So each week, that system drafts a note from its own records. I read it, edit it, cut anything that shouldn’t be public, and decide whether it goes up. Nothing publishes without me. Think of it as a build log with a very diligent first-draft writer.
What to expect
Posts here will mostly cover the themes my projects keep circling: automation that runs my actual life, hardware on my desk, and the odd visualization or web experiment. Some weeks are quiet and there will simply be no post. The system is allowed to say “nothing interesting happened” and skip a week. I’d rather miss a week than pad one.
If you want a ping when something new lands, there’s a small signup form below. There’s an RSS feed too, if that’s more your speed.
What’s next
The pipeline that writes these drafts is itself a project, so expect a note about how it works once it has a few posts under its belt.
